BioIdentical Hormone Replacement Therapy

Since the Women’s Health Initiative Study came out there has been a great deal of confusion about HRT. Most of the press got the information wrong as they mixed bioidentical with synthetic hormones as being all the same. The press never understood the difference between bioidentical and synthetic. The study was done with synthetic hormones and a major arm of the study (Prempro) had to be discontinued because of the risks involved while women were on it. What they noticed was an increase in cardiovascular problems and alzheimer’s disease. There is no evidence that bioidentical hormones do this. Click here to learn more.

Breast Screening with Thermography

Thermography is a physiologic test that demonstrates heat patterns that are strongly indicative of breast abnormalities. The test can detect subtle changes in breast temperature that indicate a variety of breast diseases and abnormalities. If abnormal heat patterns are detected, follow-up procedures including mammography are necessary to rule out or properly diagnose cancer and a host of other breast diseases such as fibrocystic syndrome, Pagets disease, etc.

Thermography is a painless, non invasive, clinical test that works without radiation or compression. At Tustin Longevity Center, it is used as part of an early detection program which gives women of all ages the opportunity to increase their chances of detecting breast disease at an early stage. It is particularly useful for women under 50 where mammography is less effective.

This test is designed to improve chances for detecting fast-growing, active tumors in the intervals between mammographic screenings or when mammography is not indicated by screening guidelines for women less than 50 years of age.

Until a cure is found, progress must be made in the fields of early detection and risk evaluation coupled with sound clinical decision making.

The Effects of Combination Therapy Utilizing Calcium Disodium EDTA Suppositories and Tetracycline for the Treatment of Prostatitis and Prostate Calcification
Based on encouraging results of an initial pilot study, conducted in Tustin, California, under the direction of Dr. Rita Ellithorpe, a new, expanded study has been launched. Using the same clinical protocol, this new study is examining the effects of an EDTA chelation suppository, called Detoxamin, and an antibiotic, (tetracycline) to reduce or eliminate prostate calcifications and the symptoms associated with this condition. This study has recently received full investigational review Board (IRB) approval.

"I encourage you to log onto www.prostate90study.com or call the research clinic at 714-544-1521 to find out more about this important study. Perhaps you or your loved ones may experience improved health benefits with participation."

Prostate Color Doppler Ultrasound

Tustin Longevity Center Sonograms utilizes a screening method called Power Color Doppler Ultrasound to produce sonographic images of the prostate. It is essentially a "high-tech" version of traditional ultrasound, which uses high-frequency sound waves to produce a detailed image of the body's internal structures.

One primary advantage of Power Color Doppler Ultrasound in the detection of Prostate Cancer is that it has a much higher resolution and the ability to highlight (hence the term "color" in the name) areas of blood flow in dense or soft tissue. This allows specific problems such as tumors or inflammation to be viewed and measured clearly.

Prostate sonograms are safe, painless and inexpensive. Unlike other screening methods, they can be repeated as often as necessary to closely monitor areas of concern and assess treatment efficacy. Power Color Doppler Ultrasound can also be used to monitor inflammation and tumors in the human body.

Nutritional Counseling

Nutritional counseling at the Tustin Longevity Center is a powerful tool for helping win the battle against many illnesses confronting us today. Diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, weight problems and heart disease can all be positively influenced by dietary improvements.

An important adjunct to the other modalities used at the Center, nutritional counseling provides you with a personalized dietary plan to complete and complement the health regimen formulated by Dr. Ellithorpe. An individual nutritional session will help clarify past dietary mistakes and provide a clear understanding of carbohydrates (which types to eat), fats (which types to NEVER EAT--surprising to most people), and proteins (how they can become the best ally against food cravings). You will learn how to shop for and prepare nutritious meals at home and receive invaluable tips for healthy restaurant dining. As everyone knows, "diets" don't work, so we will teach you how to eat for life and never have to think about dieting again.

Nutritional counseling at the Tustin Longevity Center offers a common-sense approach to proper nutrition that will help to make the transition to healthy eating an empowering and positive experience.
